I'm in Zurich to speak to the Employee Association about diversity of thought in a session called 'Your Point of View' and I'm also doing a masterclass on 'Confident Presentations' to the Executive Women's Speaking Club.
My host Maryan Barnard, the President of the Employee Association is amazing and she ensures every moment of my visit goes smoothly and that I am welcomed as a honoured guest at every turn. I love staying at Swiss Re's beautiful Centre for Global Dialogue and a bonus is I get to meet people I've only communicated with via email.
The Employee Association session is part of a monthly 'Lunch & Learn' series and the audience of 70 munch sandwiches while we discuss inclusion and diversity issues and I give them tips of dealing with different points of view, it goes well and the feedback is really positive.
The Executive Women's Speaking Club is my favourite session though, Elisabeth Viktor and Maryann organise this club where senior women get to practice and try out presentation ideas before their peers and occasionally they have a guest speaker. Today that's me, this is what's advertised:
Before I arrived Elisabeth tells me they usually have 12/13 attendees. On the day we have 36 and everyone stays for the Q and A. The audience enjoys it, I enjoy it (and my hosts enjoy it as the feedback is amazing). Must do more of it.
